Fire Suppression systems are mechanical devices so require periodic care. Maintenance is a vital step in the performance of fire suppression systems. As such it must be performed in accordance with NFPA 96 (Standard for the installation of equipment for the removal of grease laden vapours from commercial cooking equipment) and NFPA 17A ( standard on wet chemical extinguishing systems) by and authorised Ansul distributor.
To provide maximum assurance that the fire suppression system will operate effectively and safely, maintenance must be conducted at six month intervals, or earlier if the situation dictates. 10 year maintenance must include agent tank hydrostatic testing.
