FIRE SAFETY LEGISLATION
Non-domestic buildings in England and Wales must comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
RFO LEGISLATION
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RFO) emphasises that a ‘Responsible Person’ with a level of control in the premises must take steps towards reducing the risk of fire and that there is safe procedures in place for people to leave the building unharmed.

THE RESPONSIBLE PERSON MUST UNDERTAKE THE FOLLOWING:
Must complete and maintain a fire risk assessment
Sufficient means of fire detection and fire fighting must be in place
Emergency exits/routes must be kept clear at all times and must be clearly signed.
Information and training regarding what to do in the event of a fire/how to use equipment must be provided to employees.
Systems and equipment must be maintained in line with British Standards and manufacturers instructions.
